The first-ever International Ballet Gala to be staged in Sydney, Australia is to debut at the spectacular Sydney Coliseum Theatre, West HQ on the weekend of Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 July.
Some of the best dancers from all over the world will arrive in Sydney in July 2022 to participate in the Gala for the first time, performing excerpts from much-loved classical ballet works and highlights from the international contemporary dance repertoire – some of which will be performed in Australia for the first time. The annual Archibald Prize for portrait painting is the country’s favourite and most significant art award. This tenth year of the Young Archie competition, which started in 2013, saw a record number of entries (2400 entries (70 selected as finalists + 20 honourable mentions) as well as the largest number of finalists ever exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW, from 14 May to 24 August 2022.
