The Australian Watercolour Institute (AWI) returns to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney this July with an exhibition comprising over 150 works, its theme exploring art’s relationship to the pleasures of nature.

The AWI works to ensure the future of watercolour painting as a vital medium. Founded in 1923, the AWI is the country’s first and foremost national society of professional watercolourists whose membership has comprised many of Australia’s and the world’s most eminent artists.

This AWI 100th annual exhibition continues their centenary celebration, featuring renowned botanical artists such as Deirdre Bean, Beverly Allen, Colleen Werner and Julianne Ross Allcorn, as well as one of China’s foremost watercolourists, Xidan Chen.
