#melbourne Renata and her daughter Anastasia had an amazing time last night at the Regent Theatre for the media opening night of Sister Act The Musical Australia in Melbourne! It definitely was fabulous baby! Here’s Anastasia’s review! Thank you ladies for the great pics and videos “‘Sister Act’, a hit musical now playing at the Regent Theatre, guaranteed to make everybody lighten up and feel heaven soak through them. A musical comedy that razzles and dazzles, filled with pure ecstasy as Deloris Van Cartier leads us in her journey through the sound of music. Mother Superior wishes to pray her away, but perhaps it was God’s will to bring Deloris here, or it’s just the journey of being human. Based off of the original 1992 ‘Sister Act’ movie, changed to be energetic and different in order to give you a new feeling of joy. An iconic story that’s a must see! The extraordinary talents of the cast performing a show that’s unique amongst others. Book your tickets now to see the one and only ‘Sister Act’ in Regent Theatre!“

Recommended 10 years+. The show does contain some moderate language, gunshot effects, depictions of smoking, drinking and mild adult sexual and violence references as well as strobe lighting and smoke haze.

We were blessed to attend @sisteractmusicalau at the @capitoltheatresydney today. Based on the iconic movie starring Whoopi Goldberg (a fave for me growing up), the show follows similar scenes with some funny twists, amazing singing and a variety of songs! The sisters came out during the interval and really made us laugh 😆

Unfortunately Casey Donovan (lead for Deloris Van Cartier) did not perform for us today but we were both graced and blessed with @gabriyel.thomas’ presence! Gabriyel has an amazing voice and she had a great attitude to match and so fitting for the role of Deloris!

The cast was outstanding with Genevieve Lemon as Mother Superior and Rhonda Burchmore as Sister Mary Lazarus - both were excellent. The crowd thought Sister Mary Lazarus was hilarious singing and dancing wise. We loved the solos from Sophie Montague as Sister Mary Robert and Raphael Wong as Eddie Souther. The crowd definitely had a soft spot for Eddie! Miss thought James Bell as TJ was so funny! An amazing cast all round with some fantastic singing, music and a gorgeous set too!

Sister Act the Musical is on now until 6th October at the @capitoltheatresydney. It would be a sin to miss it ha!

“Growing up, Sister Act was one of the movies that I watched on repeat. I love the film and am truly honoured to be part of such an uplifting, joyful, fun and feel-good production featuring the brilliant original music by multiple Tony Award-winning composer Alan Menken,” she added.

“It is a joyous thing to produce a musical that has never been seen in Australia before and I feel very blessed to be bringing Sister Act to our shores.
